Job description

About the Company

Our client is a longstanding New Zealand fintech company that offers a unique product and has cultivated a loyal client base spanning over 20 years. Serving thousands of New Zealand businesses and their accounting firms, the company focuses on enhancing financial management efficiency and cost effectiveness. Currently, it is evolving with a purpose-driven ownership model, distinguishing it from typical fintechs.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, you will manage a portfolio of accounting firms and business relationships throughout the Central North Island. Your key responsibility is to protect and expand revenue by delivering authentic account management. Your territory includes Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Whanganui, and Taranaki, allowing you significant autonomy to deepen relationships and grow the client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, multi-tiered relationships with important firms and clients.
  • Effectively oversee and increase revenue and retention from a defined account portfolio.
  • Conduct regular account assessments using CRM tools and data insights to highlight risks and growth opportunities.
  • Detect early signs of customer churn and implement recovery strategies proactively.
  • Strategically map territory opportunities, focus on untapped markets, and expand clientele.
  • Encourage adoption of platforms and products by engaging low-usage accounts early.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers, specialists, and cross-functional teams to stimulate growth.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in account or relationship management, preferably with hunter/farmer dynamics.
  • Background in professional services or financial services sectors.
  • Well-networked within New Zealand's business and professional services landscape.
  • Proactive self-starter capable of managing diverse workloads and priorities efficiently.
  • Excellent negotiation as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial understanding relating to margins, cost of funds, and profits.
  • Team player with collaborative work style.
  • Qualifications like CA or CPA, experience in SaaS, or with regulated B2B channels are advantageous.
  • Ability to travel to client locations; a valid driver's licence is mandatory.

Benefits

  • Southern Cross health insurance coverage along with a wellbeing day.
  • Additional leave benefits including birthday leave and the option to buy up to 10 extra leave days.
  • Annual allocation of $2,500 for personal study and development.
  • A $1,000 donation to a charity of your choosing.

Additional Information

This company has established strong credibility and a loyal clientele, focusing on growth specifically in this region. The role offers the autonomy to make the portfolio your own with a company committed to investing in its employees' success.
