Customer Delivery Driver - Salisbury Extra

Role overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be the visible representative of the company on the road and at customers’ homes. The job is not limited to driving; it also involves delivering excellent service, helping customers, and ensuring every interaction ends positively. The work is practical, active, and varied, with different demands on each shift. You will spend much of the day working independently, while still having support from managers and colleagues at the store or base when needed.

Working hours and availability

The availability window for this position is:

• Sunday: 19:00 to 23:00
• Wednesday: 18:00 to 22:00
• Thursday: 18:00 to 22:00
• Friday: 19:00 to 23:00

The role comes with a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, and positions from 12 hours per week may also be available.

Pay information

Starting pay is £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 per hour in stores located within the M25. Some locations may also include extra payments.

What you will do

During each shift, you will make sure vehicles, trays, and work areas remain clean, orderly, and ready so that customers receive their shopping in excellent condition. You will load the van safely and complete the necessary checks so the vehicle is roadworthy and prepared for deliveries. You will also speak with customers about substitutions, order amendments, or short-dated products in a helpful and reassuring manner, and process refunds where appropriate to keep the experience smooth. Every order must be handled carefully, with attention to quality and customer confidence. Deliveries must be made within the allotted time slot, while offering a friendly doorstep experience that leaves customers feeling respected and well served.

What the role requires

You will need to work closely with colleagues to build team spirit and support excellent customer service. A warm, approachable manner with both customers and co-workers is important. You should be comfortable adapting quickly to changing customer needs and working flexibly between the road and the store. A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence, either full or automatic, held for at least 12 months and with no more than 3 penalty points, is required.
