Job description
About the role
This is a Wellington Central-based opportunity within NZ Post’s Finance Operations function, which brings together Customer Billing, Credit Control, and Accounts Payable & Purchasing. The team supports internal and external customers by delivering efficient, cost-conscious billing, invoicing, and payment services.
In this varied position, you will support day-to-day customer billing activity, help investigate and resolve billing questions and adjustments, and make sure customers receive accurate billing information on time so payments can be made promptly. You will help create a smooth and positive experience for both internal teams and external customers.
There will also be scope to contribute to process improvement work and projects, including identifying and supporting ideas that improve billing accuracy and efficiency. As part of the wider Group Finance team, you will collaborate closely with others and may occasionally step into related tasks across the team to help meet shared goals. A key part of the role is working alongside the Credit Control team to support business targets and objectives.
About you
You should be someone who genuinely enjoys delivering great customer service, with strong phone manner, a sharp eye for detail, and a collaborative mindset. Experience in Accounts Receivable or customer billing would be helpful, but it is not essential.
Key strengths for success
- Clear and effective written and spoken communication
- Confidence working to deadlines and performing well under pressure
- A proactive approach and the ability to learn new tasks and systems quickly
- Comfort using a range of systems and business processes
- Experience in a large or complex organisation with a strong customer service focus
Benefits
Permanent employees at NZ Post can access a range of benefits, including special pricing on holiday home accommodation around New Zealand, retail discounts with partner businesses, and an Employee Assistance Programme for support when needed. Additional benefits may also be available.
