Role Overview
Wycombe Abbey invites applications for the position of Custodian within its security team. The role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors by managing security operations, customer service, and site oversight, particularly at the School’s entrances and throughout the campus.
Employment Details
This is a full-time, permanent appointment, with the initial three months serving as a probationary period. Successful candidates will need to undergo an Occupational Health assessment for night shifts. The work schedule averages 40 hours per week on a 12-week rotating rota encompassing day and night shifts, seven days a week throughout the year. Bank holidays are treated as regular working days with corresponding pay allowances, and Christmas shifts receive extra pay. Occasional overtime may be required to facilitate key school events. Annual leave entitlement is 30 days.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Controlling access to the School premises.
- Monitoring CCTV surveillance systems.
- Conducting routine site patrols.
- Managing visitor sign-in procedures.
- Responding promptly to incidents and emergencies.
- Supporting the smooth coordination of deliveries, events, and parking.
- Serving as a professional and warm first point of contact for visitors and staff while ensuring all activities adhere to School policies.
