Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a custodian with Polk County School Board in Perry, Florida. The role supports the day-to-day cleanliness, upkeep, and safety of the school campus, including routine custodial work, basic maintenance support, and grounds-related tasks. The successful candidate will also help maintain a secure and orderly environment during and after school operations.
Core Duties
- Carry out regular custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks that contribute to the safety and overall appearance of the site, including using and caring for assigned equipment.
- Help move and lift heavy items when needed.
- Work with the immediate supervisor to recognize custodial, maintenance, and safety-related needs.
- When assigned, secure the building after normal school hours and following evening events.
- Follow state rules for storing flammable materials and disposing of trash, rubbish, and waste.
- At times, observe hallways, restrooms, walkways, and cafeteria areas at the school location.
- Protect sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by the site administrator.
