Job Summary

Gonzaga University is seeking a Curriculum Specialist to join the Registrar's Office within the Institutional Research & Registrar VP Area. This full-time, onsite position involves reviewing, processing, and evaluating academic credentials for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students to ensure compliance with university graduation policies. The role requires meticulous attention to detail in managing student academic records, advising students and program directors on degree progress, and assisting with commencement ceremonies and athletic eligibility certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews, processing, and evaluations of undergraduate and post-baccalaureate curriculum to align with university degree requirements and conferral policies.
  • Manage mass and individual student record adjustments based on program and Dean requests, particularly when curriculum changes affect prior catalog requirements.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to students and program directors/advisors regarding degree deficiencies and strategies for successful academic progression.
  • Ensure the accuracy of undergraduate and post-baccalaureate transcripts before degree conferral.
  • Apply and verify course attribute coding on student academic records.
  • Advise students on necessary adjustment and transfer credit paperwork for degree completion.
  • Process all substitution and waiver requests for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students.
  • Support the posting of transfer credits for graduating students.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of annual commencement ceremonies, including booklet production, lineup organization, card management, attendance tracking, and identification of honor recipients.
  • Assist in certifying degree progress for student athletes and calculating their progress towards degree completion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Significant related experience is necessary, with 75% of the role focused on core duties.
  • Ability to work fixed daytime hours, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical mobility, including standing, walking, and lifting/carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
