Job description
Role Overview
This position involves detailed analysis of technical signals intelligence data using Python and Jupyter Notebook, focusing on areas such as PROFORMA, ELINT, and FISINT where applicable. The role requires expertise in big data management and geospatial analytics, including proficiency with PySpark and geospatial data analysis tools. It also involves developing and enhancing Python software packages, especially those related to data visualization and machine learning.
As a Cryptanalytic Computer Scientist, you will design, create, and implement cryptographic and cryptanalytic solutions to solve complex problems utilizing mathematical, statistical, algorithmic, and computational strategies. Your knowledge will further extend into computer security domains, applying advanced algorithm design to functionalities such as vulnerability discovery, threat and attack identification, and countermeasure development.
The role also emphasizes translating technical solutions into applied outcomes across forensics, attack attribution, network defense, early warning systems, and target system exploitation.
Professional Experience and Qualifications
- PhD plus 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or
- Associate degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
Military service is recognized with credit at 1.25 times the normal experience value.
Preferred Background
- Experience in computer science, either theoretical or applied.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, using, or evaluating mathematical models, methods, or techniques focused on algorithm development and problem-solving within engineering fields.
- Expertise in high performance computing.
Educational Requirements
The candidate should hold a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline. The education must include programming as well as at least four advanced mathematics courses (at the level of Calculus or above).
