Role overview
This fixed-term opportunity is expected to run for 2 to 3 months and is ideally set to begin within the next few weeks. The employer is open to full-time, part-time and flexible working arrangements, though the office-based nature of the role means candidates should be able to commute to Lewes.
The Creative Strategist will help strengthen the in-house performance marketing function by turning audience insight, data and product understanding into creative strategies that improve results. Working with the Performance Marketing and Brand teams, the position covers strategic thinking, concept development and high-impact copywriting for paid social campaigns.
Key responsibilities
The work centres on paid social creative strategy, from identifying winning angles to building frameworks for testing and iteration. The successful candidate will also help shape the creative production pipeline and support collaboration across creative, performance and brand functions.
- Convert performance data, audience research and testing results into actionable creative direction.
- Spot promising angles, messages and campaign territories for paid social across Meta, TikTok and newer platforms.
- Set up and maintain a creative testing structure that supports fast learning and refinement.
- Track platform changes, cultural trends and competitor activity to keep ideas fresh.
- Lead the briefing process for performance creative with clear and inspiring direction.
- Create several creative routes quickly, balancing brand storytelling with direct-response goals.
- Develop concepts for UGC, static, motion and product-led paid social content.
- Partner with designers, editors and external creators to deliver concepts.
- Write concise, persuasive copy for ads, hooks, headlines, body copy and calls to action.
- Build messaging frameworks that can be tested across audiences and formats.
- Keep all writing consistent with the brand voice while improving conversion potential.
- Help establish a scalable and efficient creative production workflow.
- Work closely with Performance, Brand and Creative teams to keep output aligned.
- Use AI tools where helpful to support idea generation and creative volume.
Candidate profile
The ideal person is equally comfortable analysing what is working and shaping what should be made next. They should combine commercial awareness with strong creative judgement, and be able to move confidently between strategy and execution.
- Has worked in creative strategy, performance creative or content strategy, preferably for a D2C brand.
- Experience in wellness, beauty, lifestyle or FMCG is a plus.
- Understands what drives creative performance on Meta and TikTok.
- Can write short-form, attention-grabbing copy confidently.
- Can switch between strategic planning and hands-on creative execution.
- Has worked with or built a creative testing process.
- Communicates well across teams in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Balances creative instinct with commercial thinking.
- Is curious, insight-led and proactive.
- Works independently and stays calm under pressure.
- Can manage several projects at once without losing detail.
- Enjoys collaboration and contributing ideas generously.
