Role Overview
Based in Cologne, Germany, this full-time hybrid role (three days onsite weekly) invites a Creative professional to make independent design decisions and develop sophisticated identity systems for various touchpoints including digital, physical, and experiential media. You will be part of projects from initial briefing to delivery, using Interbrand's 'Three Lenses' framework to inform strategic design direction and leveraging emerging digital tools and AI creatively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead specific creative workstreams, exploring multiple directions and advancing the strongest ideas to final implementation.
- Design and integrate identity elements such as logos, typography, color palettes, motion, and UI components consistently across key platforms.
- Apply Interbrand’s Three Lenses framework for making strategic design choices.
- Employ innovative design technologies to accelerate iteration without compromising quality and craftsmanship.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project teams to transform strategic concepts into compelling visual designs.
- Oversee design craftsmanship on assignments ensuring alignment and cohesion across all brand touchpoints.
- Guide and mentor junior designers to maintain high standards throughout the creative process.
Candidate Profile
- Fluency in both German and English is essential due to the international work environment.
- Demonstrated experience with brand identity systems and multi-touchpoint design through a strong portfolio.
- Junior to intermediate experience in brand design with sound knowledge of design fundamentals and craft.
- Comfortable working across digital, physical, and experiential design disciplines.
- Interest or experience in applying emerging design tools and AI-based workflows to enhance creative output.
- Ability to confidently justify design decisions with a strategic mindset, recognizing the interconnected nature of identity components.
- Collaborative work style, engaging constructively with researchers, analysts, and strategists as equals.
- Dedicated to continuous learning, open to feedback, and proactive in refining design skills and adopting new technologies.
- Excellent communicator who can clearly articulate design rationale and keep stakeholders informed.
- Responsible and self-driven, managing workloads independently and ensuring timely delivery with meticulous attention to detail.
