Job description
About the Role
This position leads Uber Mobility in Ireland and carries full responsibility for strategy, growth, and P&L. The role is the most senior on-the-ground leadership position for the business in the country, serving as the public face of the operation and driving its long-term success in one of EMEA’s fastest-expanding markets.
The ideal hire is a commercially astute operator who works quickly, builds credibility with stakeholders, and turns plans into results. You will set the growth direction for Ireland, develop the relationships that matter most, and partner closely with the Northern Europe Regional General Manager while acting as the link between Ireland and broader European leadership.
Commercial Ownership
- Take full accountability for the financial results of Uber’s Irish Mobility business and deliver profitable growth with both ambition and discipline.
- Balance scale and profitability thoughtfully, and proactively flag investment requirements as market conditions and competition evolve.
Strategic Growth and Expansion
- Shape and drive Ireland’s mobility growth plan within a fast-changing market dominated by taxis.
- Create more market penetration through strong local partnerships and by ensuring the marketplace is dependable, affordable, and the preferred option for riders and drivers.
- Lead expansion into new cities and additional mobility categories, including EV adoption, making sure each launch is smooth and each new market scales sustainably.
Local Market Intelligence and Crisis Readiness
- Act as the main source of local insight, providing timely, data-backed updates on market movements, competitor activity, and new opportunities to regional leadership.
- Manage local crisis response, coordinate communications with stakeholders, and make operational changes quickly, while working closely with the RGM on any national-level events.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Own important policy and government relationships that are essential for Uber’s continued operation and growth in Ireland.
- Collaborate across Operations, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to maintain regulatory compliance and strong operational execution across all markets.
Team Leadership and Culture
- Develop and coach a strong local team and create a culture centered on accountability and ambition.
- Support employee growth through coaching and talent development so the team can deliver business goals.
Candidate Profile
You should bring at least 8 years of leadership experience in strategy, operations, business development, or consulting, with a strong record of operating at a senior level and producing meaningful results.
The role also calls for someone who can build and execute ambitious growth plans in complex, fast-moving environments, use data and commercial judgement to make sound decisions, and influence others effectively through trust and alignment.
Strong familiarity with the Irish market, including the regulatory environment, competitive landscape, and cultural context, is a major advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing high-stakes external relationships with industry groups, business partners, and government-adjacent organisations.
- Proven resilience and adaptability, including the ability to navigate uncertainty and recover from setbacks while still delivering outcomes.
- Strong personal interest in urban mobility and confidence that technology can reshape how cities move.
