Job description

About the Company

UOB Kay Hian is a major financial services group with a long-established presence across Southeast Asia and Greater China. With more than a century of experience, the firm has developed enduring partnerships with entrepreneurs, local businesses, and large institutions by offering a wide range of financial and wealth-building services across Asian markets.

Based in Singapore and listed on the Singapore Exchange, the group operates across securities broking, private wealth management, investment research, investment banking, and corporate advisory. Drawing on its broad regional footprint, strong institutional and corporate relationships, and extensive distribution reach, UOB Kay Hian supports clients with mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets work, strategic advisory, and fundraising across many industries.

Role Overview

The organisation is looking for a driven, analytical, and detail-focused Corporate Finance Analyst to join the team in Singapore. The role involves close collaboration with senior colleagues on live transactions and advisory projects, with practical exposure to mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and wider investment banking activities.

Because the team operates in a lean structure, the analyst will be expected to take initiative, work independently, and add value across deal execution, financial modelling, sector research, and client-facing deliverables. This position provides broad exposure to the full transaction cycle, from deal sourcing and execution through to completion, while helping build technical, commercial, and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update financial models to support corporate finance mandates.
  • Carry out valuation and analysis work, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, precedent transaction, and accretion/dilution analyses.
  • Review financial and operating performance, core business drivers, and transaction-related factors to aid deal assessment and strategic decisions.
  • Perform detailed company and industry research to support transaction evaluation.
  • Track market activity and sector trends to surface opportunities and relevant insights.
  • Assist with due diligence by examining financial, operational, and commercial information linked to transactions and strategic assignments.
  • Summarise findings, risks, and deal considerations emerging from due diligence reviews.
  • Help prepare due diligence materials, management discussion points, and internal assessment notes.
  • Support business development and mandate origination through the preparation of polished marketing materials.
  • Contribute to pitch books, investment memoranda, transaction documents, and related presentation materials.
  • Work with colleagues across teams to support delivery across the firm’s corporate finance platform.
  • Take part in live transaction work, including client meetings, execution coordination, and management of transaction workstreams where needed.
  • Coordinate meetings, data room access, and document exchange during deal processes.
  • Keep transaction files and records organised and up to date.
  • Support deal documentation and internal approval workflows.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline, preferably with at least Second Class Upper honours or an equivalent GPA.
  • Under 2 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, audit, transaction advisory, or a similar field; strong fresh graduates with a genuine interest in corporate finance are also welcome.
  • Solid financial modelling capability, strong analytical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
  • Strong curiosity about markets and business, along with a willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a clear sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage several workstreams at once, and meet demanding deadlines within a dynamic team.

Eligibility

This role is open to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field who have less than 2 years of relevant experience. Recent graduates with a strong interest in corporate finance are encouraged to apply.
