About the Role

This position is geared towards experienced creative writers, journalists, novelists, essayists, editors, and publishing professionals who wish to contribute to the advancement of AI research by evaluating AI-produced content. The role involves applying literary, editorial, and storytelling expertise to assess and enhance AI-generated writing across diverse formats. These efforts support the creation of next-generation AI technologies by focusing on narrative quality, stylistic accuracy, editorial uniformity, and imaginative reasoning. This is a flexible, project-based contract with no prerequisite experience in AI required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Critically review, edit, and polish AI-generated pieces including articles, essays, novels, short stories, speeches, and other extended creative texts.
  • Analyze submissions for literary merit, originality, structure, tone, voice, clarity, logical flow, and thematic richness.
  • Offer comprehensive editorial feedback and suggestions aimed at improving AI-created writing.
  • Evaluate narrative components such as character arcs, dialogues, pacing, storytelling methods, and consistency in style.
  • Apply professional editorial standards to guarantee high-caliber written productions across formats.
  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to enhance AI language model development.
  • Uphold superior writing quality standards, precision, and creativity.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in creative writing, journalism, novel or essay writing, or similar literary professions.
  • Extensive portfolio showcasing published works like books, articles, essays, or recognized literary contributions.
  • Outstanding proficiency in narrative architecture, storytelling, voice, dialogue, character development, and literary techniques.
  • Skilled in editorial critique, meticulous proofreading, and manuscript assessments.
  • Exceptional written communication abilities and fine attention to detail.
  • Capable of delivering insightful, constructive, and well-founded editorial commentary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Published works in respected literary journals, magazines, anthologies, or other noted outlets.
  • Honors such as literary awards, fellowships, or distinguished recognitions.
  • Experience in editorial roles including book editing, acquisitions, developmental editing, literary scouting, or critique.
  • Proven background in evaluating sophisticated literary work spanning multiple genres and formats.
  • Knowledgeable or familiar with AI, language models, editorial assessments, or content review systems.

Compensation & Terms

  • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $75 to $100.
  • Payments processed weekly.
  • Engagement as an independent contractor.
