Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a Content Moderation Specialist based in Germany and handled through a partner company that manages the application review and all subsequent hiring steps. The role is centered on keeping a digital platform safe, compliant, and reliable by checking user-generated content at scale.

You will evaluate content against safety standards, community rules, and legal obligations, with particular care when handling sensitive or potentially harmful material. The work calls for accuracy, impartial judgment, and strong attention to detail in a high-volume, structured setting. You will also coordinate with escalation teams whenever a case needs additional review or specialist input. The position offers the chance to directly support user safety and protect platform integrity on a global platform.

Key accountabilities

  • Examine user-created content and verify that it follows internal policies, safety requirements, and legal rules.
  • Spot, categorize, and report content that breaks policy, including harmful, deceptive, or inappropriate material.
  • Apply moderation standards consistently while keeping decisions accurate and fair.
  • Refer difficult, sensitive, or uncertain cases to senior reviewers or specialized policy teams.
  • Work toward agreed productivity and quality goals in a fast-moving moderation environment.
  • Handle confidential user information and sensitive content with strict discretion.
  • Contribute ideas and observations that help improve moderation workflows and processes.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant brings strong focus, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a policy-led moderation setting.

  • About 6 months to 1 year of background in trust and safety, compliance, moderation, or a closely related area is preferred.
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to assess sensitive or potentially harmful material objectively.
  • Basic familiarity with moderation processes, tools, and community standards.
  • Awareness of how cultural context can affect the interpretation of online content.
  • Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to record decisions in a clear, consistent manner.
  • Comfort working in a structured, high-paced, policy-driven environment.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive monthly pay of up to 800 USD, depending on eligibility.
  • Fully remote working arrangement.
  • Paid time off for vacation and sick leave.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Access to sports and wellness programs.
  • The chance to contribute to a rapidly growing global digital platform.
  • A supportive and collaborative team culture.

Application and hiring process

This vacancy is managed by a partner employer, which oversees the application review and the next hiring steps. A matching process is used to identify candidates who best fit the role’s core requirements, and the resulting shortlist is passed on to the hiring company for interviews, assessments, and final decisions.

Privacy and selection notice

By applying, you agree that your personal data may be processed to assess your suitability for the position and shared with the employer involved in the hiring process. This processing is carried out on the basis of legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. You can exercise your rights, including access, correction, deletion, and objection, at any time.

Automated tools may also be used to assist with parts of the recruitment workflow, such as screening applications, reviewing resumes, or checking responses for possible inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and the final hiring decision is made by people.
