About the Company
Fanatics is developing a major global digital sports ecosystem that serves fans across the world. The business helps amplify the reach of hundreds of sports partners through three core areas: Fanatics Commerce, Fanatics Collectibles, and Fanatics Betting & Gaming. Fans can shop licensed apparel and fan gear, build collections with physical and digital trading cards and memorabilia, and use the company’s sportsbook and iGaming products as those platforms expand. Fanatics supports a massive fan base, a broad partner network, thousands of retail locations, and a large global workforce focused on improving the fan experience.
About the Team
Fanatics Collectibles operates at the crossroads of collectibles, culture, and technology. Supported by experienced investors and partners from sports and entertainment, the team is working to become a global leader in next-generation collectibles. It uses the wider Fanatics platform, which reaches a large audience of sports fans and partners, to reimagine the collectibles journey for fans, collaborators, and creators.
Role Overview
Topps Digital - Sports & Entertainment is hiring a Content Designer to support the growth of its digital collectible mobile apps. In this position, you will partner with the app team to develop, visualize, and produce trading card concepts from early ideas through launch. You will work closely with designers, content producers, product managers, and community managers to help expand the Topps Sports & Entertainment apps.
What Makes a Strong Fit
The role suits someone with a genuine enthusiasm for sports and entertainment, a strong connection to fandom, and an understanding of the collector mindset. Responsibilities
- Develop original concepts and templates for digital trading cards, collectibles, and related Topps projects that appeal to fans and collectors.
- Design flexible card structures so subjects, logos, and colors can be swapped easily, enabling efficient high-volume production.
- Turn your own ideas and the team’s ideas into engaging card designs that connect with collectors.
- Keep app and property branding fresh, accurate, and aligned with current identity standards.
- Prepare cards for release, preserve visual quality and brand consistency, and coordinate with outside design support to meet launch timelines.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of graphic design experience, ideally gained in sports, entertainment, or a mobile/technology environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, along with working knowledge of the broader Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and After Effects.
- Background in motion graphics, editing, or animation tools such as Blender or Cinema 4D.
- Ability to work fast and maintain strong output quality under tight deadlines and short turnarounds.
- Strong awareness of current design trends and a creative approach that explores fresh ideas.
- Deep interest in collectibles and familiarity with the brands represented by Topps.
- Experience with 3D modeling is considered an advantage.
- Experience working as part of a design team is also a plus.
- The company notes that all applicants should be vigilant against fraud, as Fanatics does not request payment from candidates and legitimate communication should come from an official company email address.
- The listed salary is base pay only; it excludes short-term and long-term incentives.
- The stated salary range applies to New York City and may differ for other locations.
- Base compensation is determined using factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
