About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Consumables and Materials Manager to support the Theatre Complex at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The hospital boasts 17 elective and 4 emergency theatres covering a wide range of specialties including General, Thoracic, Robotic, Vascular, Urology, Gynae, Emergency, and Obstetrics. Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive stock administration function for the Main Theatre Complex.
- Ensure clinical area stock items and equipment within the theatres are maintained at agreed levels, adhering to schedules for counting, delivery, and shelf replenishment.
- Utilize and assist in the maintenance and adoption of relevant IT systems, including the Inventory Management System, across the department.
- Support the setup and ongoing service maintenance of new satellite theatre areas, such as the Jenny Lind paediatric theatres and NANOC.
- Process orders with NHS Supply Chain and submit requisitions for non-stock items in line with established product rationalization and standardization policies.
- Collaborate closely with the procurement team to ensure seamless service delivery for theatre teams, maintaining direct communication with the multidisciplinary team across all surgical specialties.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining optimal stock levels, actively participating in service improvement initiatives and the development of new strategies for consumable management within the theatre area.
Requirements
- Experience in stock administration and inventory management, preferably within a healthcare or complex operational environment.
- Proficiency in using IT systems, including inventory management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with procurement teams and multidisciplinary staff.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining stock levels and schedules.
- Understanding of procurement processes and compliance with standardization policies.
- Willingness to support new service developments and contribute to strategic improvements.
