About the role

We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Consultant General Surgeon to become part of a healthcare team in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The position is centered on delivering high-standard surgical treatment, using both conventional and minimally invasive methods, and working closely with other specialists to improve patient results. This is an opportunity to contribute to advanced surgical care while making a real difference in patients’ lives.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and oversee patients who need general surgery treatment.
  • Carry out a broad range of general surgical operations while following all safety and clinical standards.
  • Manage patients before and after surgery to support the best possible recovery.
  • Work with different medical professionals to create personalized treatment plans.
  • Explain procedures, risks, and aftercare instructions to patients and their families.
  • Keep medical records complete, clear, and up to date.
  • Take part in continuing medical education, research activities, and quality improvement work.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) plus completion of an accredited General Surgery residency.
  • Board certification in General Surgery is mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a Consultant General Surgeon.
  • Strong command of a wide range of surgical methods and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong bedside manner.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
