Consultant Anesthesia & Critical Care

Job Overview

The Consultant Anesthesia & Critical Care position involves delivering safe anesthesia services and managing patients requiring intensive care within the hospital. This role encompasses preoperative evaluation, administration of anesthesia for both elective and emergency surgeries, as well as post-operative and critical care in the ICU, in close collaboration with surgical and medical teams.

Primary Duties

• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and administer anesthesia during elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Monitor and manage patients intraoperatively and through the post-anesthesia recovery period, ensuring their safety and stability.
• Offer comprehensive care in the Intensive Care Unit, including ventilatory support and hemodynamic monitoring and management.
• Lead emergency resuscitation protocols and critical response situations.
• Engage actively in multidisciplinary clinical rounds, audits, and contribute to training junior medical staff.
• Maintain strict compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention guidelines, and NABH accreditation requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A medical degree (MBBS) with a postgraduate qualification of MD or DNB in Anesthesia or an equivalent credential.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience post-MD, specializing in Anesthesia and Critical Care.
• Mandatory certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); possession of a fellowship in Critical Care is advantageous.
