Job Location and Overview
This role is based at NMS Deane House, Taunton, TA1 1HE. The Community Payback Supervisor position involves overseeing groups of offenders serving community sentences through unpaid work placements aimed at benefiting the community.
Work Schedule and Requirements
This full-time role requires 37 hours per week condensed into 4 days with 9.25 hour workdays. Weekend work is expected as projects operate seven days a week, and occasional evening cover may be required. A full UK manual driving licence is mandatory; applications from those holding only an automatic licence will not be accepted.
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead teams performing unpaid work such as clearing overgrowth, restoring community spaces, planting, litter picking, graffiti removal, and other manual tasks.
- Drive service vehicles to transport people or equipment when necessary.
- Motivate individuals on probation and ensure work quality to facilitate their rehabilitation and benefit the community.

Salary and Career Progression

Selection and Application Process
Applicants must attend a mandatory in-person introductory session on Friday 4th September 2026 from 9:30am to 12:30pm followed by online interviews starting at 2:00pm the same day. Applications require responses to Civil Service behavioural and experience-based questions. The recruitment process uses the Success Profiles framework assessing behaviours, strengths, and experience. Feedback is provided only to candidates participating in interviews or assessments.
Mandatory Eligibility and Legal Requirements
- Right to work in the UK is required.
- Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is not available unless the applicant held such a visa before July 22, 2025.
