Job description
Role overview
This role sits at the center of a fast-scaling healthcare AI company that is rethinking how patients communicate with providers. The company builds omnichannel agents that handle phone calls, texts, and chat so patients can move through their care journey without repeating themselves or waiting endlessly on hold.
The organization has grown quickly, backed by major investors, and has processed more than 170 million patient interactions across roughly 8,000 providers. It has also reduced average hold times from 11 minutes to 1 minute, built a large specialty healthcare voice dataset, and expanded from 15 people in 2025 to 170 today while continuing to grow rapidly.
The Community Manager will support the newest New York City office and help shape the employee, guest, and candidate experience as the team scales.
What the role involves
This is a hands-on, high-ownership position for someone who enjoys creating structure, keeping a workplace running smoothly, and making people feel welcome. The person in this role will act as the day-to-day operator of the office while also helping build culture and support hiring and onboarding activities.
Core duties
- Oversee everyday office operations, including supplies, vendors, mail, and facilities-related issues, while keeping the workspace organized and ready for use.
- Create a positive office environment by making sure the space remains stocked, functional, and inviting.
- Plan and deliver team events, celebrations, and community-building activities that strengthen culture.
- Manage seating arrangements and shared-space planning now, and work with leadership on future layout and expansion needs.
- Support talent operations by helping coordinate interviews, monitoring onsite schedules, and improving the onboarding experience for new hires.
- Act as the main point of contact for visitors, candidates, and guests by greeting them, guiding office tours, and helping ensure a polished experience.
- Work onsite five days a week, with hours of at least 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and flexibility to stay later when needed.
Working style and company values
The team moves quickly, values ownership, and is focused on making healthcare access better for patients and providers. The culture emphasizes constant improvement, customer obsession, accountability, and strong team alignment. The company describes its operating principles as a Day One mindset, a 5-Star focus, a habit of always answering the call, and a one-team approach.
Compensation and hiring notes
The stated compensation range for this role is $130,000 to $155,000 per year. The company also notes that its talent team will only use email addresses ending in assorthealth.com for official communication.
Benefits and perks
The organization offers a competitive package that includes salary, equity, and performance-based bonuses, along with medical, dental, and vision coverage. Additional perks include a gym stipend, flexible or unlimited PTO, learning and development support, office setup support, meals and snacks, commuter benefits, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
Additional context
The company’s mission is to make patient communication feel continuous instead of fragmented, helping people move from their first symptoms through recovery without having to repeat information or re-navigate the system each time they call.
It has raised more than $100 million at a $700 million valuation and has been recognized among leading enterprise technology and cloud companies. The broader team is described as collaborative, low-ego, and highly focused on speed, ownership, and patient impact.
