Role Overview

The position of Community Manager entails a full-time, on-site commitment at Madras Engineering College located in Chennai. This role focuses on cultivating and sustaining robust relationships among students, alumni, faculty members, and external collaborators to nurture a dynamic and lively campus environment.

Key Duties

  • Designing and implementing events to engage the campus community.
  • Handling management of both physical and digital community platforms.
  • Coordinating activities and clubs involving the student body.
  • Moderating communication channels used for institutional discourse.
  • Creating captivating content and collecting stakeholder input.
  • Supporting outreach efforts and collaborating with academic and administrative divisions.
  • Monitoring engagement metrics and advising on strategies to improve participation and inclusivity.

Minimum Qualification & Experience

  • Proven expertise in community engagement and managing stakeholders, preferably within student or professional settings.
  • Excellent communication abilities encompassing clear written communication and confident public speaking.
  • Event planning and coordination skills complemented by strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Experience in managing social media or other online communities, with proficiency in basic digital tools and platforms.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, alongside a cooperative and service-focused outlook.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Sciences, Education, or related fields; prior involvement in academic or youth-centered environments is advantageous.
  • Availability to work on site at a campus in Chennai and adaptable to assist with events and various activities.
  • Interest or understanding of technology and engineering disciplines such as IT, Computer Science, or Data Science is a plus.
