Role overview
Corrective Services NSW is seeking a Community Corrections Officer for Bourke Community Corrections in the Western District. This ongoing full-time position is based in Bourke, New South Wales, and offers the chance to contribute directly to rehabilitation, accountability, and safer communities.
In this role, you will supervise people on community-based orders, assess their individual needs and risks, build practical case plans, prepare reports for decision-makers, and recommend programs and services that can support lasting behavioural change.
The salary range for this position is $102,936 to $113,579, plus superannuation and leave loading.
About the team and location
Bourke Community Corrections is a smaller office located in a historic outback town on the Darling River. The service area includes Bourke, Brewarrina and Cobar. The team acknowledges the Ngemba, Muruwari and Baakandji peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land. The office is committed to better outcomes for clients and the wider community, with a strong focus on integrity and respect.
There is currently one vacancy in Bourke, and a talent pool may also be created for future ongoing and temporary opportunities. If established, that talent pool will remain active for up to 18 months, with priority given to roles in Bourke.

Training and work conditions
Successful candidates must complete a mandatory, paid, four-week in-person training program at Brush Farm Academy. This training forms part of the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice and is a key requirement of the role.
