Job description

About the role

Edison is looking for a Communications & Marketing Manager to take charge of its communications and marketing direction. This is a flexible part-time opportunity, with the company open to a 3 to 4 day working week. The position combines strategic leadership with practical, day-to-day delivery.

You will help refine how the organisation communicates both internally and externally, contribute to business development activity, and keep messaging clear, consistent, and aligned with Edison’s culture, values, Strategic Plan, and Business Plans.

The role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Edison's communications and marketing strategy so it supports the Strategic Plan and annual Business Plans.
  • Plan communications activities and carry them through to execution.
  • Handle internal and external communication channels, including LinkedIn, the website, and newsletters.
  • Track results and look for ways to strengthen the impact of communications and marketing activity.
  • Support bid and tender writing, along with related content development.
  • Take ownership of Edison's brand and marketing collateral, and help it evolve over time.
  • Influence the design and presentation of key materials such as the Annual Report, Strategy, and Business Plan.
  • Offer practical advice on communications and marketing matters.

About you

  • You bring communications and marketing experience from a medium-sized organisation of around 50 to 150 people.
  • You have strong writing, editing, and storytelling ability.
  • You are comfortable juggling several priorities and working with different stakeholders.
  • You combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on style.
  • Experience with bids and tenders, and exposure to professional services, would be an advantage.
  • You have a relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • You take initiative and can solve problems effectively.
  • You use sound judgement and work in a pragmatic way.

Benefits

  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • A supportive and inclusive team environment.
  • Opportunities for career development.
  • Competitive pay plus medical insurance and free parking.
  • The chance to contribute to New Zealand's energy sector.
