About the Role
St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) seeks an innovative and proactive Communications Assistant specializing in digital content and social media to support its communications team. Reporting to the Communications Officer, the successful candidate will assist in developing and executing digital media strategies, managing content across various online platforms, and enhancing internal and external communication efforts aligned with corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on creating and implementing social media strategies and digital communication campaigns.
- Manage and update monthly content schedules for all approved digital outlets.
- Prepare, schedule, and post approved materials on social media channels, the company website, and other digital mediums.
- Regularly update and maintain website content to ensure it remains current, accurate, and consistent.
- Support communication efforts for company campaigns, events, outages, safety measures, customer education, and other corporate programs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Media & Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of professional experience in communications, media, marketing, digital content creation, or a related sector.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Solid understanding and operational experience with major social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Competence in drafting captions, announcements, website updates, and concise content adhering to brand and communication guidelines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Effective interpersonal skills for teamwork and collaboration.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy and consistency in all communications.
