Job description

Role Overview

This commissioning leadership role is based in Doha, Qatar, and supports major project execution within the oil and gas sector. The position focuses on contractor oversight, technical review, schedule control, and quality assurance across commissioning activities.

Qualifications

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in sciences or engineering.

Experience and Technical Background

  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in large project commissioning in oil and gas, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or oversight capacity.
  • Working knowledge of hook-up and commissioning delivery workflows, project stages, completions walkdowns, and pre-startup safety reviews.
  • Background in integrated control and safety systems for large EPC contracts, along with strong technical commissioning capability.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and related procedures.
  • Exposure to LNG vendor equipment and systems such as compressors, power generation packages, control systems, and topsides equipment.
  • Experience supporting operational start-up in large-scale operating environments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the EPC project management team by evaluating essential documents and reports produced by the main subcontractor and joining workshops or review sessions as needed.
  • Review technical submissions and proposed exceptions, then assess deviations and new technologies to confirm alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Help maintain project schedule performance so key milestones are achieved, including LLI procurement, engineered equipment procurement, and ROS dates; prepare and track recovery actions where needed.
  • Check and validate the accuracy of EPC contractor progress reporting.
  • Take part in quality audit activities, document findings clearly, and support mitigation planning when issues are identified.
