Job description
Overview
This role is for OCA Global and focuses on mechanical quality inspection for equipment, piping, welding, and pressure-containing assets. The inspector will verify that fabrication and installation activities comply with international codes, project requirements, and Saudi Aramco standards, while also checking materials, documents, and completed work for quality and regulatory conformity.
Key Duties
- Inspect a range of mechanical items including pipes, fittings, valves, structural steel, fasteners, boilers, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.
- Check conformity with relevant standards such as ASME Sections I, V, VIII, and IX; ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8; API 620 and 650; AWS D1.1; and NACE requirements.
- Carry out welding-related inspections, including review of WPS and PQR documents, verification of welder qualifications, visual inspection, and coordination of nondestructive testing such as MT, PT, UT, and RTFI.
- Ensure all inspection activities align with Saudi Aramco Specifications and Standards as well as accepted industry practice.
- Examine fabrication, installation, testing, and final completion stages of mechanical systems.
- Validate material certificates, PMI results, and supporting quality documentation for mechanical components.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, QC records, and NCR documentation, and track corrective actions through closure.
- Work with project teams, contractors, and quality leadership to address technical and quality issues.
- Contribute to audits, surveillance checks, and other quality-focused technical reviews.
Mandatory Requirements
- A B.E. or B.Tech in a relevant engineering field with at least 6 years of inspection experience, or a 3-year diploma with at least 8 years of relevant inspection experience.
- Solid familiarity with international codes and standards, along with Saudi Aramco Specifications and Standards.
- Saudi Aramco approval as an inspector, or successful completion of the Saudi Aramco CBT exam and interview.
- One or more internationally recognized inspection credentials, such as API SIFE, API 653, API 570, API 510, ASME certifications for pressure vessels, boilers, and heat exchangers, ASNT Level II in MT/PT/UT/VT/RTFI, or AWS CWI / CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical inspection methods, test instruments, and PMI tools.
- Required QMs include QM-03, QM-05, QM-07, QM-30, QM-31, QM-34, QM-35, QM-37, and QM-68.
