Role Overview
The Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort seeks a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join its kitchen team on a casual basis, integral to ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering high-quality dishes that contribute to excellent guest dining experiences.
Key Duties
- Assist in preparing and presenting dishes from all kitchen sections.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to maintain efficient service and operational flow.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Proactively develop culinary skills within a professional setting.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members as needed.
Work Schedule
- Rotating shifts that cover Monday through Sunday.
- No split shifts; service hours may include breakfast, lunch, and dinner (dinner service concludes at 7:45 PM).
- Two consecutive days off weekly.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay rates: $36.81 (Mon-Fri), $44.18 (Sat), $51.54 (Sun), excluding superannuation.
- Overtime and penalty rates apply.
- On-shift staff meals.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Certificate III in Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a similar kitchen role.
- Familiarity with Modern Australian Cuisine.
- Knowledge of HACCP and Work Health & Safety policies.
- Ability to perform under pressure within a team setting.
- Willingness to work a flexible roster, including weekends.
- Experience mentoring less experienced kitchen staff.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
