Role Overview

The Commercial Manager for Ground Products will champion the performance and expansion of Qantas' portfolio concerning baggage and ancillary revenue products, focusing particularly on customer-driven innovation. This position is based permanently at the Mascot Campus in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the commercial success and future growth of baggage solutions and ancillary product opportunities.
  • Discover new market possibilities and construct compelling business proposals.
  • Collaborate with teams across Digital, Marketing, Operations, and Customer divisions to launch new products and partnerships.
  • Lead multiple stakeholders and teammates through the delivery cycle of innovative commercial products.

Candidate Profile

  • More than seven years of experience in product, commercial, or similar positions.
  • Educational background in Commerce, Finance, Business, or related disciplines.
  • Proficiency in product strategy and commercial management techniques.
  • Ability to leverage customer insights and data analytics to inform decisions.
  • Strong commercial judgment including skills in forecasting, profitability analysis, and business case creation.
  • Experience handling suppliers, partners, and a range of cross-departmental stakeholders.
  • Excellent abilities in communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with Agile work environments and principles of Human-Centered Design.
