About the Employer

Programmed Facility Management provides cleaning and facilities support across community and public locations throughout New Zealand. The team places strong emphasis on safe work practices, collaboration, and reliable service delivery to keep shared spaces clean, safe, and functioning well.

Role Overview

This is a practical, hands-on cleaning position for someone who is proud of high standards, can work with limited supervision, and is comfortable handling a mix of specialist and commercial cleaning tasks across Auckland. Each workday begins at the Henderson depot before travelling to assigned sites such as community centres, libraries, public facilities, public restrooms, and other council or community buildings.

Key Duties

  • Carry out carpet cleaning across assigned sites.
  • Strip and polish floors as required.
  • Operate scrubber and buffing machines safely and effectively.
  • Perform window cleaning tasks.
  • Complete water blasting work where needed.
  • Undertake high dusting duties.
  • Clean upholstery and related surfaces.
  • Handle general commercial cleaning tasks.
  • Maintain public restrooms to a high standard.
  • Follow scheduled cleaning procedures and work safely at all times.

What the Role Requires

  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in commercial or specialist cleaning.
  • Practical experience using commercial cleaning machinery and equipment.
  • A valid Full Class 1 Driver Licence is essential.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete written job instructions and safety paperwork in English.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to handle manual work.
  • Dependable, punctual, and available for full-time hours.
  • Willingness to work day or night shifts when needed.
  • Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment and drug test.
  • Provision of two recent work references.

Working Hours

The position is full-time, five days per week. Flexibility to work across shifts is valued. Typical operating hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm and 7:00pm to 3:30am. Days off are Tuesday and Wednesday.
