Colorist

Role overview

Majilite Corporation is seeking a meticulous Colorist to join its Lab team in Dracut, Massachusetts. This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Research & Development Manager. The role focuses on developing and matching shades for custom synthetic leather products using solvent-based binders and pigments.

The ideal candidate enjoys precise, hands-on lab work and takes pride in turning raw materials into finished products with accurate and consistent color results. Both experienced color professionals and candidates who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

The role pays between $25 and $28 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Match customer color targets and reference standards with a high degree of accuracy.
• Create new formulas and fine-tune existing ones using solvent-borne pigments and binders.
• Review physical production samples and compare them against visual benchmarks.
• Run small-scale trial blends and laboratory compound tests.
• Keep detailed records of weights, formulas, and each adjustment made during the process.
• Read, understand, and follow technical instructions and formulation documents.
• Keep the work area orderly and comply with chemical safety procedures at all times.

Work environment

This position is based in the Lab department and is primarily practical, detail-driven laboratory work.
