About the role

Awtad, a well-established real estate business, is hiring a Collections Specialist to join its finance function. The position focuses on overseeing overdue receivables, keeping financial records accurate, and helping ensure payments are collected on time. The role plays an important part in protecting cash flow and supporting the company’s financial health while preserving good client relationships.

The selected candidate will work directly with customers to resolve payment concerns and partner with internal teams to make the collections process more efficient. Strong communication, a careful eye for detail, and a solid grasp of accounting basics are important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Track accounts receivable balances and pursue overdue accounts in a timely, courteous manner.
  • Discuss invoices, payment conditions, and pending dues with customers.
  • Where required, arrange payment plans or negotiated settlements.
  • Keep thorough records of collection actions and client interactions.
  • Work with finance and legal teams to handle disputes and take issues forward when needed.
  • Compile collection reports, aging summaries, and variance details for management.
  • Follow company guidelines and applicable regulations throughout the collections cycle.
  • Recommend improvements to collection workflows and help reduce outstanding receivables.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior exposure to collections, accounts receivable, or credit control is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of collection practices and core accounting concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, along with negotiation ability.
  • Professional, composed approach when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
  • High attention to detail, good organization, and reliable record maintenance.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Arabic and English fluency is preferred.
