About the opportunity
This is a rare opening to join a young, well-funded AI startup at an early stage and help shape its growth from the ground up. The role is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere, making it a strong fit for an experienced marketing leader who wants to build a function from first principles.
The company is positioned between seed and Series A and is looking for a foundational hire to create the entire marketing setup. Prior direct experience in the AI industry is not required, provided you have already built marketing successfully in an early-stage startup environment.
What you will do
- Take ownership of the full marketing strategy and turn it from concept into execution.
- Shape the company’s market position, message, and overall category story in a rapidly changing AI environment.
- Partner closely with the founders to influence product-market fit and go-to-market priorities.
- Turn a technically complex product into clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand communication.
- Launch and learn from early growth tests across multiple channels.
- Create the first demand-generation engine through content, partnerships, founder-led promotion, and community activity.
- Set the core performance metrics and build feedback loops that support continuous improvement.
- Lay the groundwork for future customer acquisition and stronger brand awareness.
- Establish a recognizable, credible brand in a competitive and fast-moving AI landscape.
- Develop thought-leadership initiatives that help the company become a trusted source in AI decision-making.
- Build messaging that creates confidence and differentiation, especially around reliability and accuracy.
- Own essential marketing assets such as the website, content, tools, and analytics setup.
- Choose and implement a practical, lightweight marketing tech stack suitable for an early-stage business.
- Work in a highly hands-on way with limited resources at the start.
- Help define the future hiring plan for marketing as the company grows.
- Build and lead a small, high-performing team once traction and product-market fit are in place.
What the company is looking for
- Applicants from outside the AI sector are welcome, as long as they bring strong 0-to-1 marketing experience and a solid record of delivery.
- Demonstrated success building marketing in an early-stage startup, ideally at Seed to Series A/B stage or a comparable growth phase.
- Evidence of having contributed to a scale-up, fundraising process, or successful exit.
- A balance of strategic thinking and strong execution in day-to-day work.
- Experience creating positioning and generating early traction from the beginning.
- Comfort working in small teams and navigating ambiguity without much structure.
- International mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a remote, distributed setup.
