Job description

Job Purpose

The role is focused on generating insurance business from the assigned relationship or channel partner within a specific area or zone. The objective is to influence the partner so they can, in turn, guide their customers toward investing in Birla Sunlife Insurance. This position also involves providing complete pre-sales and post-sales assistance to both the relationship and the clients, working closely with the dedicated team tied to that relationship. Success in the role means not only meeting targets, but also sustaining quarter-on-quarter business growth.

Key Challenges

  • Business is exposed to market fluctuations, since the company primarily sells unit-linked insurance products.
  • There is significant dependence on the HDFC branch banking model in an open-architecture setup, where the branch may have competing priorities, making alignment essential.
  • The role requires balancing internal process expectations with the needs and expectations of channel partners.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Deliver premium and revenue targets to support overall company growth.
  • Ensure the sales process and related operational workflows run efficiently so business opportunity is maximized.
  • Maintain smooth execution of sales and associated processes to improve overall business potential.
  • Handle relationship management in an open-architecture environment.
  • Apply the appropriate business acquisition approach to achieve a profitable business mix for the organization.
