Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate Cloud & Systems Administrator to join our Managed Services team in Canberra. This pivotal position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, M365, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and hybrid infrastructures. The role demands hands-on engineering expertise and a commitment to delivering superior service and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the Professional Services team to support diverse enterprise and government clients.
• Architect, deploy, and maintain secure cloud-based solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure and associated technologies.
• Provide second and third-tier support for ICT systems and services.
• Troubleshoot and administer critical components including Active Directory, Azure AD, AVD, Microsoft 365 platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online/Hybrid), Windows Server, and core infrastructure.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform and Bicep to control configuration and ensure consistency.
• Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage incidents comprehensively from initial report through to resolution while maintaining stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex or escalated technical issues.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to services and infrastructure.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated expertise as a Cloud Administrator, Systems Administrator, or IT Support Engineer within managed service or enterprise settings.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services spanning IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid workplace configurations.
• Proficient with Windows Server, virtualization technologies, LAN/WAN networking, and enterprise-level security measures.
• Hands-on experience managing Active Directory, Azure AD, M365 suite, AVD, and Exchange environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or alternatives.
• Competency in ITSM platforms including ServiceNow, Jira, or comparable systems, following formal incident and change control processes.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a customer-oriented approach.
• Strong organisational abilities with capacity to prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Required to hold or be eligible for an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.

Additional Requirements

• Possession of a current NV1 security clearance is mandatory.
• Valid Vulnerable People / Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check are prerequisites.
