Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Cloud & DevOps Architect to spearhead the design, deployment, and management of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure environments. This role involves leading platform engineering initiatives, cloud automation, and ensuring operational excellence with a strong focus on security.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy secure multi-cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Implement cloud-native and hybrid-cloud systems.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using OpenTofu/Terraform and Ansible.
- Create and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment.
- Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to maintain platform health.
- Promote reliability, scalability, and security standards across platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship in cloud architecture and DevOps methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in IT.
- Demonstrated expertise with multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms, particularly AWS plus at least one additional cloud provider.
- Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as OpenTofu/Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
- Background in managing infrastructure within secure enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration and PowerShell scripting.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of GitLab, Packer, OpenBao/HashiCorp Vault, and VMware.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools including Prometheus and AWS CloudWatch.
- Experience working within security-sensitive or governmental contexts.
- Prosci ADKAR certification is advantageous.
Additional Information
The role requires an active Secret Security Clearance, or the candidate must be eligible to obtain one (typically needing at least 10 years of residency in Canada). The position is based onsite in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and is a full-time vacancy.
