About the Role

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated individuals to join their prominent oncology and haematology research team. This Clinical Research Practitioner position will be part of the Lung Oncology Research Team, offering a career path in research. The role involves leading the coordination of clinical trials, assisting with trial setup, identifying and discussing trial participation with patients, collecting and reporting data, and providing support to patients and their caregivers throughout their treatment journey. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to enhancing patient choices, care, and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a patient and participant advocate at all times.
  • Coordinate research clinics and manage study-related care.
  • Develop and implement strategies for identifying and enrolling research participants.
  • Lead a portfolio of research studies and conduct clinical assessments according to established standards.
  • Maintain proactive communication with study and clinical teams to ensure excellent participant experience and adherence to study protocols.
  • Complete case report forms, manage site files, implement amendments, and maintain databases.
  • Mentor and support new and junior team members.
  • Contribute to the team's quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure participant well-being by adhering to study protocols, relevant regulations, and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

As a key component of King’s Health Partners, one of England's eight academic health sciences centres, it integrates top-tier clinical services, education, and research. The Trust hosts a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) biomedical research centre, established in collaboration with King’s College London in 2007, alongside specialized clinical research facilities. The Lung Oncology Research team is situated at Guy's Hospital.
