Job description
About the Role
We have an exciting opening for a motivated Clinical Physiologist to join the Neurophysiology Directorate team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. The role offers an excellent development opportunity for recently qualified physiologists eager to enhance their skills in a busy environment, working with both adult and paediatric patients, as well as experienced physiologists looking to broaden their specialist testing expertise within a major teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities
You will be part of a skilled team performing a variety of routine and advanced neurophysiological tests across MFT facilities. Your duties will include independently conducting routine EEGs, sleep studies, ambulatory video EEGs, and evoked potentials. You will provide detailed and factual written reports compliant with departmental standards. The role also involves participating in rotational duties across different neurophysiology locations within MFT, such as North Manchester and Wythenshawe, and contributing to a monthly EEG service at Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man.
Working Environment and Values
Joining MFT means becoming part of a community of over 30,000 employees serving more than one million patients annually. As the largest specialist service provider with Europe's biggest health academic campus on Oxford Road, MFT is committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and continuous quality improvement. The work environment supports career growth with clear professional development pathways and a collaborative multidisciplinary team culture. Utilisation of The Hive electronic patient record system ensures efficient, safe, and smarter patient care delivery.
