Clinical Nurse Manager - Aged Care

About the Role

Archer Villages & Care Homes is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to lead clinical excellence within aged care. This role demands a compassionate, values-driven approach focusing on person-centered and high-quality nursing care. You will oversee and mentor a multidisciplinary clinical team including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Health Care Assistants, driving clinical leadership, quality assurance, and compliance with relevant standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver daily clinical leadership and supervision to maintain safe, compassionate, and individualized care for residents.
• Coach and support clinical staff, manage rostering, provide on-call support, and handle escalations during emergencies.
• Ensure comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and accurate documentation, including input to InterRAI assessments when applicable.
• Lead efforts in quality assurance through internal audits and risk management, ensuring preparedness for external reviews.
• Collaborate with residents, their families and whanau, general practitioners, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated care delivery.
• Oversee infection prevention and control measures and promote robust health and safety procedures.
• Assist in effective resource and budget management, minimizing reliance on agency staff and ensuring prudent use of supplies.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be a New Zealand Registered Nurse holding a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Nursing.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical settings, ideally in aged care or complex care environments.
• Experience managing Infection Prevention & Control and leading audit-related activities.
• Strong familiarity with quality systems, compliance frameworks, and the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively and manage challenging situations diplomatically.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain and maintain it.

Desirable Attributes

• Postgraduate qualifications in relevant clinical fields.
• Competency or training in InterRAI assessment tools.
