About this opportunity
Canadian Base Operators is expanding its Southport team and is looking for a dependable, team-oriented person to join a busy, hands-on workplace. The role supports a range of services for the client, the Royal Canadian Air Force, through a partnership with Kelowna Aerospace Defence Programs.
Role overview
This is a permanent full-time Cleaning Assistant position based in Southport, Manitoba, reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor. The main responsibility is maintaining cleanliness across indoor areas such as classrooms, hangars, and offices. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
Key duties
- Keep all on-site areas clean, including common areas and frequently touched surfaces.
- Remove dust from surfaces and fixtures.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, and furniture.
- Sweep, mop, and polish floors as needed.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms.
- Collect, sort, and dispose of garbage and recycling.
- Use cleaning supplies and equipment correctly and store them safely.
- Restock paper products and related supplies.
- Follow health and safety rules as well as company procedures while carrying out all tasks.

Experience and knowledge
- Prior cleaning experience is preferred, though full training will be provided.
- Familiarity with different cleaning tools, equipment, and products is an advantage.

- Careful and detail-focused in day-to-day work.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to bend and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

- Must be eligible to obtain an Enhanced Reliability Clearance through the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate.
