Job description
Role overview
We are hiring full-time Class 3 Delivery Drivers to operate from the Edmonton, Alberta branch. This position is ideal for dependable, driven, and physically capable people who are comfortable working in both cold and warm conditions. The work focuses on accuracy, speed, and safety, and success in the role depends on strong effort, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
This is an active delivery role, not a seat-only driving job. Drivers spend their shifts unloading and bringing products directly into retail chain stores, so the job involves hands-on physical work as well as driving. It suits someone who is comfortable with demanding labor and takes pride in doing the work carefully and correctly.
What the job involves
- Transporting products and delivering them directly to retail customer locations.
- Manually handling freight and unloading it with tailgates, hand carts, and dollies; ramps are not used.
- Working 10-hour day shifts, four days each week.
- Driving company tandem axle trucks with automatic transmission.
- Keeping records accurate and completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Providing professional service and maintaining good working relationships with store personnel.
What you need
- A valid Class 3 driver’s licence and a current clean driver abstract with no more than 3 demerits.
- At least 2 years of experience driving heavy trucks; prior delivery work is preferred.
- The ability to repeatedly lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Comfort working in both cold and warm environments.
- A working smartphone and willingness to use it for work purposes, with a cell allowance provided.
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to complete a criminal background check at the time of hire.
Compensation and benefits
The role pays $25.00 per hour. Pay is issued bi-weekly by direct deposit. Additional support includes an employer-paid cell phone allowance, a safety vest provided on the first day, optional RRSP benefits, incentive programs, rewards programs, and training to help team members succeed.
The company also emphasizes internal growth and advancement, with a strong preference for promoting from within whenever possible.
Schedule and conditions
This is a permanent full-time position. The schedule is a day shift with four shifts per week, and the start time is 7:00 AM.
Additional terms
The compensation information provided reflects the employer’s good-faith estimate at the time of posting and may change later. Final pay, bonuses, commissions, long-term incentives, and benefits are subject to company policies, applicable plans, and the employer’s discretion, where permitted by law.
