Job description
Role Overview
We are looking to hire a skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor to contribute to our infrastructure projects team. The successful applicant will have a proven background in projects focused on roads, utilities, and infrastructure, possessing a comprehensive understanding of quantity surveying, cost control, contract administration, and managing project finances.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop quantity take-offs based on Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and detailed project specifications.
- Create and critically assess Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Prepare cost estimates at various stages throughout the project lifecycle.
- Examine quotations submitted by subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness.
- Compile interim payment applications and assess subcontractor invoices accordingly.
- Measure completed construction works and authenticate quantities against records.
- Assess Variation Orders (VOs) and their associated cost implications.
- Assist with claim preparations and oversee contract management tasks.
- Track project expenditures relative to the established approved budgets.
- Generate cost reports and provide commercial progress updates.
- Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, procurement officers, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure all project activities comply with specifications and contractual agreements.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in quantity surveying.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge in preparing BOQs, cost estimations, measurements, managing Variation Orders (VO), Interim Payment Certificates (IPC), and claims processing.
- Prior experience with FIDIC contractual guidelines is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and well-versed with standard quantity surveying methodologies.
