Role overview
This opportunity is with a well-established Irish construction contractor that has a strong reputation in the industry. The business is looking for a Civil Estimator to strengthen its expanding business unit in Dublin.
The role offers a solid platform for someone who wants to grow into both estimating and commercial responsibilities. You will be involved in estimating, procurement, package management, and preconstruction work, while collaborating with experienced colleagues on major projects that are technically demanding and highly visible.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates in a timely manner to support tender submissions.
- Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors during the tender stage to obtain reliable pricing for work packages.
- Support a smooth transition of tender information to project teams once a contract has been secured.
- Keep track of wider market and economic conditions to help shape winning bid strategies.
- Guide and support estimators so they can build their careers within the estimating function.
Requirements
- A relevant third-level BSc degree in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 3 years of estimating experience, backed by strong exposure to heavy civil engineering projects such as infrastructure, roads, bridges, utilities, marine works, or major groundworks.
- Recent experience at Senior Estimator level and a background working with a main contractor on large civils or infrastructure schemes.
- A strong analytical mindset and a structured approach to estimating.
