Childcare Director

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Director to manage the smooth running and safety of our childcare center located in Alpharetta, GA. Responsible for overseeing daily functions supporting up to 150 children and more than 18 staff members, this role ensures compliance with State regulations and maintains a nurturing learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, and supervise both staff and children within the childcare facility.
• Promote positive and effective communication with students and parents, fostering strong relationships.
• Monitor all center activities to guarantee safe and active engagement of children.
• Uphold a clean and secure facility environment.
• Support additional tasks such as supervising food preparation, managing communications via phone, addressing parent inquiries, and handling school opening and closing protocols.
• Stay current with State daycare regulations and ensure all staff training is up to date.
• Conduct tours for prospective students and parents to showcase the center.
• Maintain vigilant supervision of children at all times, providing support for any child in distress.
• Assist teaching staff in the planning and implementation of weekly curriculum and activity programs.
• Collaborate with back-office personnel and corporate support to effectively execute responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 40-Hour Directors Course Certification, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or equivalent Childcare Director certification as mandated by the State of Georgia.
• Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role such as Director, Assistant Director, or Office Manager within a licensed childcare facility.
• Prior supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to provide leadership and work direction.
• Certification or ability to obtain CPR/First Aid and any other required health and safety trainings.
• Familiarity with childcare licensing regulations and early childhood education curricula.
• Possession or ability to secure a current, satisfactory background check as required by Georgia's Decal standards.
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving conditions and requirements.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to plan and manage work independently.
• Proven initiative to foster communication and build trusting relationships with parents and colleagues.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Advanced Directors Course Certification.
• Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or related fields.
• Knowledge of Georgia's Bright from the Start regulations, Pre-K program standards, and Quality Rated framework.
