Role Summary
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) position is a full-time, hybrid role located in Vancouver, BC, combining in-office and remote work. This leadership role demands crafting and driving the technology vision to accelerate growth and value creation for the target company expanding within current and new markets. Key daily tasks involve supervising software development projects, directing system and data architecture design, and ensuring resilient and scalable infrastructure for trading, risk management, analytics, and internal processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee cross-functional technology projects and collaborate with senior management on developing products for both internal and client-facing platforms.
- Implement best practices related to security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor technical teams, fostering a conducive atmosphere for collaboration and innovation.
- Assess emerging technologies and manage vendor relationships to enhance digital capabilities continuously.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in software development including modern frameworks, cloud technologies, and integration of data and trading systems.
- Proven skills in project management, overseeing complex technology initiatives from inception through to deployment.
- Strong strategic ability to align IT investments and technology roadmaps with business objectives in the fintech sector.
- Deep knowledge in designing secure, scalable, and robust system architectures and data infrastructures.
- Experience with product development, particularly technology-driven products for internal and external users, is preferred.
- Leadership capabilities demonstrated by managing and mentoring diverse technical teams with a cooperative and inclusive style.
- Solid understanding of fintech marketplace dynamics, with an emphasis on payment systems.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills enabling effective translation of complex technical issues for business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Information
The job commencement is dependent on securing funding for the acquisition, anticipated to take six to eight months. Candidates are expected to maintain their current positions or undertake temporary roles until the financing is complete and the transaction finalized.
