Job description
Role overview
BTCM is seeking a full-time remote Chief Operational Excellence Officer to strengthen operational performance across a multi-state portfolio. The position focuses on improving efficiency, standardizing best practices, and building scalable operating systems across gas stations, convenience stores, hotels, vape shops, and other related business lines.
What you will do
In this leadership role, you will evaluate how each business unit is performing, spot workflow and process weaknesses, and rank improvement opportunities based on business impact. You will work with leaders across functions to roll out changes that raise service standards, reduce costs, and support growth at scale.
You will also create and monitor key performance indicators, conduct root-cause investigations when issues arise, and apply data-backed solutions to improve results. In addition, you will partner with finance and strategy teams on planning, budgeting, and allocating resources, while coaching operational leaders to reinforce accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings strong operations leadership experience, especially in environments where processes must be standardized and performance improved across multiple locations or business units. A background in business planning, KPI development, analytical problem-solving, financial oversight, and team leadership is essential.
Additional requirements and preferences
Experience in retail, hospitality, fuel and convenience, or other multi-site operations is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Finance, or a related discipline is required, and an MBA or similar advanced degree would be an advantage.
Role expectations
This role calls for excellent communication, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to work closely with executive leadership, field teams, and corporate functions to deliver operational improvements.
