About the Role
We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer or Vice President of Operations for a well-funded climate infrastructure robotics startup located in Berkeley, CA. The company develops advanced robotic systems designed to operate reliably across large-scale physical environments such as land management, infrastructure, restoration, and climate resilience projects.
This position centers around establishing and optimizing the operational backbone of the company as it evolves, covering deployment, customer delivery, internal processes, strategic projects, commercial execution, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operational rhythms including planning cycles, accountability frameworks, and performance metrics.
- Lead critical strategic initiatives spanning areas like deployment, customer success, financial management, workforce coordination, vendor relations, and internal systems.
- Design and implement scalable workflows for project management, customer onboarding, field operations, and interdepartmental collaboration.
- Collaborate with hiring strategies, fundraising activities, preparation of investor communications, and board engagement documentation.
- Translate a technically complex physical product into a repeatable commercial and deployment strategy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has prior experience enabling a venture-backed startup to transition from early-stage ambiguity to sustainable, repeatable growth. Experience may come from fields such as robotics, deep tech, hardware, climate tech, infrastructure, energy, aerospace, industrial automation, artificial intelligence, software, Internet of Things, logistics, marketplaces, financial technology, or healthcare.
We value individuals who have built consistent operational cadence, structures, teams, metrics, and commercial motions required for scaling business functions across departments.
