About the Organisation

Patanjali Herbal Research Division, part of Patanjali Research Foundation in Haridwar, supports documentation, analysis, design, and project execution across themes that align with the organisation’s broader objectives. The division brings together around 150 trained scientists from areas such as botany, taxonomy, microbiology, biotechnology, and related disciplines. Its work focuses on plant-based medicine, yoga, and connected research areas, generating scientific and empirical evidence for therapeutic applications. It also develops structured, validated research that can be useful to researchers, scientists, and industry professionals working in Yoga and Ayurveda.

Role Overview

This opening is for an experienced and outcome-driven senior leader to oversee sludge management programmes, biofertiliser operations, and plant management. The role combines project leadership, day-to-day operations, procurement, commercial handling, and business growth, with a strong focus on efficiency, compliance, and profitability.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A master’s qualification in Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering, Agriculture Biotechnology, or a closely related discipline.
  • An MBA in Operations or Marketing will be considered an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in sludge management, wastewater treatment, biofertiliser manufacturing, waste management, or similar industries.
  • Demonstrated background in plant operations and project management.
  • Working knowledge of procurement, commercial discussions, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience supporting marketing activities is preferred.
  • Strong capabilities in leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with environmental rules, quality systems, and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of sludge management and biofertiliser plant operations from start to finish.
  • Plan production efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee plant output, upkeep, workforce management, and process improvements.
  • Create procurement plans for raw materials and supervise purchasing activity.
  • Support sales growth and business development for biofertiliser and associated offerings.
  • Maintain productive relationships with customers, suppliers, government bodies, and industrial collaborators.
  • Handle commercial negotiations for purchases and sales contracts.
  • Compile operational reports, budgets, and performance dashboards.
  • Guide, support, and develop plant and operations teams.
