Chief Financial Officer

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a senior finance executive to join a well-established and expanding engineering and trading group based in Business Bay, Dubai. The position plays a central role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening governance, and improving overall business performance. As part of the executive leadership team, the CFO will be responsible for the complete finance function and for influencing commercial decisions that support steady, profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement the organisation’s finance strategy so it supports long-term business goals.
• Take charge of all major finance activities, including planning and analysis, treasury, taxation, audit, controls, and reporting.
• Work closely with the CEO and board on strategic planning, investment choices, capital deployment, and risk oversight.
• Promote financial discipline across engineering and trading operations, with attention to project costing, cash flow forecasts, margin protection, and working capital.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting to deliver actionable insight for senior decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to UAE legal, tax, and statutory reporting obligations, including VAT and corporate tax.
• Handle relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and other key external parties, including overseas partners.
• Improve internal controls, finance systems, and operational processes to support growth across multiple markets.
• Recruit, guide, and develop a strong and effective finance team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least 10 years in senior finance leadership, with a strong track record in a comparable role.
• Proven leadership experience within the UAE market.
• Background in engineering and/or trading is required.
• Experience working internationally, including cross-border business, multi-currency settings, and global stakeholders.
• Arabic and English fluency, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
• A recognised professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or an equivalent credential.
• Solid understanding of UAE financial regulations, VAT, and corporate tax requirements.
• Experience in project-based finance and handling large budgets.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Business Bay, Dubai, UAE. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and/or the Board and sits within the Engineering / Trading industry.
