About Swift Cargo Inc. and Position Summary
Swift Cargo Inc., a global leader in third-party logistics with a 35-year debt-free history and over 600 employees, is expanding in Canada and Europe. The Canadian CEO will spearhead the local operations based in Toronto, managing the full profit and loss responsibility while steering growth and ensuring compliance with regional regulations.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Formulate and implement sales strategies to increase Canadian market share and revenue.
- Develop and lead a capable sales team by clearly defining pipelines, goals, and performance indicators.
- Establish major client relationships and strategic alliances to fuel business growth.
- Ensure local sales and marketing initiatives align with the company's global standards.
- Oversee all financial aspects including revenues, costs, and profitability under full P&L ownership.
- Manage various logistics verticals such as Truck Brokerage, Ocean/Air Freight, Customs Brokerage, Consolidated Containers, Refrigerated Cargo, and Project Cargo.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly performance reports covering key performance indicators, sales data, pipeline status, and risk concerns to senior executives.
- Ensure strict compliance with Canadian tax, legal, payroll, and CIFFA regulations.
- Promote a culture rooted in integrity, respect, and high performance.
- Implement talent mobility programs to cultivate versatile, cross-functional teams.
- Conduct structured reviews and set clear targets for senior management.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in general management or commercial roles with comprehensive P&L accountability.
- Demonstrated success in driving significant sales growth and closing major business deals.
- Expertise in accounting, revenue forecasting, asset-light 3PL operations, and data analytics.
- MBA qualification is advantageous.
- Proficient in English, with professional French language skills considered a plus.
- Strong analytical skills for financial interpretation and budget management.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Dedicated to ethical leadership and strict adherence to the company's Code of Conduct.
