About the Role
Charcuterie Artisans is seeking a dynamic Category and Insights Manager to drive strategic decisions across sales, marketing, and innovation. This role is pivotal in uncovering growth avenues, fostering category leadership with retail partners, and presenting compelling, data-backed narratives to both internal teams and external stakeholders. The position requires travel throughout the United States.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage syndicated data sources to monitor category, brand, and competitor performance.
- Analyze retail sales trends, distribution, pricing, and merchandising strategies to pinpoint growth opportunities and untapped market potential.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to develop persuasive category management presentations and customer-specific proposals that secure retail support.
- Conduct comprehensive consumer and shopper insights research, both quantitative and qualitative, to understand charcuterie and entertaining-related behaviors, preferences, and motivations.
- Create and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and monthly reports that consolidate key performance indicators and provide actionable insights.
- Contribute to new product innovation and brand strategy by providing data-driven insights and category justifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Innovation, and Finance to ensure data strategies align with overarching business objectives.
- Proactively monitor food and lifestyle trends relevant to charcuterie, snacking, and entertaining to anticipate shifts in consumer demand.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, or comparable tools, as well as shopper panel analysis.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
- Superior analytical, storytelling, and presentation capabilities, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, impactful insights.
- A thorough understanding of retail dynamics, category strategy principles, and shopper marketing techniques.
- Previous experience working within grocery, mass-market, natural food, and/or specialty retail channels.
- A genuine passion for food, entertaining, and understanding the evolving consumer landscape.
