About the Organization
WeLive Foundation is a non-profit working with young adults who are moving on from Child Care Institutions (CCIs) into independent adulthood. Through its Residential Bridge Program, it offers a secure and encouraging setting where residents can strengthen well-being and work readiness skills needed for a successful transition to adult life.
Role Overview
The Caretaker will oversee the daily running of the Men’s Residential Center in Bengaluru. This position is centered on maintaining a secure, orderly, and supportive home environment while encouraging residents to stay engaged in education, jobs, life-skills development, and shared community living. The role also includes mentoring responsibilities and providing first-line support to young men in residence.
Residential Centre Management
- Keep the centre safe, secure, and functioning smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
- Look after the premises to ensure it remains tidy, hygienic, and suitable for living.
- Make sure all safety measures and emergency response steps are properly followed.
Community Living and Resident Engagement
- Help build a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive environment among residents.
- Encourage healthy interactions, shared accountability, and mutual respect within the home.
Well-being Support
- Observe and respond to emotional or behavioural issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Work with the program team to arrange counselling, mentoring, and life-coaching support.
Work Readiness and Education Support
- Track whether youth are regularly and punctually attending school, training, internships, or work.
- Follow up on absenteeism, low attendance, or performance-related concerns.
- Support residents in building practical life skills such as managing time, handling money, communicating effectively, and solving problems.
Documentation and Administration
- Keep resident files, attendance logs, visitor records, incident reports, and daily diaries accurate and up to date.
- Maintain databases and program tracking tools on a regular basis.
Coordination and Communication
- Stay in regular contact with the mentor and the wider team.
- Coordinate with employers, schools, training centres, healthcare providers, and other external stakeholders whenever needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Prior experience with adolescents or young adults in a residential setting is desirable.
- Strong people skills and the ability to handle conflict well are important.
- Comfort with basic computer tools such as MS Office and Google Workspace is needed.
- The role requires the ability to function in a residential, community-based environment.

Working Hours
Work hours will follow the residential centre schedule. The position may require flexibility to handle emergencies or support centre activities outside the usual working hours.
Reporting To
The role reports to the Centre Mentor.
